Upstone Materials and Barrett Industries operate across multiple quarry and aggregate locations throughout upstate New York, and they needed a corporate video that could capture the scale of their operation, not just one facility but the full picture of what the company does and where it does it. That kind of project means travel, and this one took us about five hours north to Plattsburgh, right on the edge of Lake Champlain near the Canadian border.

Filming in a working quarry is a different animal. The scale of the equipment is enormous, the environment is loud and dusty, and you're constantly working around active operations. It's the kind of location that makes for incredible footage if you know how to work with it, dramatic textures, massive machinery, wide open sky. Getting the shot means being in the right place at the right time and moving fast when the action is happening.

There's no set, no art department, no controlled lighting. You're working with what the location gives you and making it look intentional.
