We produced this music video for Vievanessa, a Hudson Valley-based artist whose work has always carried a message beyond the music. The video features a cast of both special needs and typically abled children performing together, and the experience of filming it was genuinely unlike any other production day we've had.

What It Actually Takes to Film with Kids
Filming with children, especially a mixed cast of special needs and typically abled kids, requires a specific kind of patience and flexibility that you can't manufacture on a shoot day. You can't direct a child the way you'd direct an adult performer. You can't ask for another take the same way. You have to create an environment where the kids feel comfortable, safe, and engaged, and then you follow what happens rather than imposing a rigid shot list on it.
The result, when it works, is something that no amount of rehearsed performance can replicate. The moments that make a video like this land are the unscripted ones: a genuine laugh, a spontaneous interaction between two kids who just met, a look of pure concentration or joy that no casting director could have planned. That's what the camera has to be ready for, and that's what makes this kind of production both challenging and deeply rewarding.
